Winnie the Pooh Mural

Between semesters of grad school, I decided to paint another mural for my niece, Emily. She is about a year and a half old now and has just started to recognize and play with Winnie the Pooh characters. My family loved the idea and so with their help, I designed this mural in our guest room where Emily often takes naps. While I did not come up with the original illustration of these characters, I made the mural unique by adding a sentimental quote, Emily’s name on a pot of hunny, and we attached 3D bees onto the wall (that I got from the Target dollar section). This mural was nostalgic for me to paint because my sister and I also had a Winnie the Pooh mural in our room as kids! Ours was a combination of Tweedy Bird and Winnie the Pooh and also included cute customizations like our names on the tree and our address on the envelopes (redacted for the internet). The bees were Emily’s favorite, and she instantly recognized her friends Piglet, Tigger, and Pooh Bear. It was so fun tapping into my inner child for this mural and it has definitely brightened up our guest room! Please scroll to the bottom for pics of my childhood mural.
