La Mesa Utility Box Painting

About a year after painting my first utility box, I got the itch to do another one. So I spent time googling “city name + utility box program” until I found one in La Mesa, about 40 minutes south of where I live. Like my first, I downloaded the design template and submitted an application along with photos from my utility box in Vista. When I opened my inbox a week later I read the sentence “Would you be interested in doing three?” and of course, I said yes! Turns out painting three is a lot more work than one (these were so much work to clean and prep), but I love the way they turned out. This project took two days to complete and I was met with words of encouragement and praise from the local community. If you’d like to see these in person, they are located in front of La Mesa Lumber on University Ave.
