Bicycle Art Auction

ArtReach is a nonprofit in San Diego that provides free arts education and expression for youth in our County. I’ve been a happy supporter of them for several years, both as an artist painting on charity items and as a volunteer muralist. This year, they’re back with an auction using Electra bicycles and I was elated to custom-paint a bicycle, helmet, bell, and plastic basket. The set is called “Finding the Joy in the Blues” because each object has a slightly different blue hue. This design also represents everything that brings me joy including plants, animals, nature, space, flowers, stripes, and a fun color palette! I always want my art to feel like it truly belongs on the object, so I combined all of these icons to create an uplifting, continuous pattern on all the pieces. In addition to the online auction, all objects painted by 29 local artists will be available to view in person at Mission Federal ArtWalk in Little Italy, April 29th -30th! Click here to view all the bikes, or donate to a good cause!!
