Vinyl Record Art Sale @ NPMF
ArtReach is back with another art fundraiser! This time, over 60 vinyl records were transformed into custom art by local artists - with the goal of raising funds for free arts education for youth in San Diego County. All vinyl will be available to view and purchase in person at the two-day festival in North Park San Diego* where music, food, and drinks will be flowing! Those unable to attend can also view all the art, purchase, and donate online.
I painted two vinyl records for this event, pulling imagery straight from my sketchbook. Amongst the scribbles, there exists a two-page spread of plants, animals, and flowers typically found in a forest. I then chose my two favorite sketches (of a tiger and a sloth) and paired them with a rich green/blue background. These paintings were created on records collected from the discount bin and have a new life as bright, colorful art pieces!
*The festival is a ticketed event, please visit the North Park Music Fest website for more information and to purchase tickets. Vinyl art can be viewed and/or purchased either in-person at the fest, or online here.
